I'm Lucinda.

As an expert in adult learning and leadership, one thing I know is that growth is essential for success, especially for leaders. Growth is also a rich and messy creative process. As a writer, I invite and engage the playful energy that inspires change. As a trainer, I help the brain build new connections. And as a coach, I offer structure, support, and accountability to make change stick. By braiding together the different parts of my unique background, I help evoke transformation in individuals and teams.

5 Things About Me

I am tenacious. Telling me I can't do something is exactly what gets me going. This is the energy that has gotten me to publish poetry, run 3 half marathons, start my own business... I am passionate about pushing past my limits, and will help you feel the same way about yours.

I am a builder. Growth is hugely important to me and I nurture it every way I can. I love creating something from nothing. I am the kind of person who looks around and says, "wow, someone should really xxx" and moments later realize "someone" is me. I have created moms groups, writing groups, women's workshops, and a whole dang social movement once.

I love to dance. I dance in the kitchen, at parties, while driving. No, I'm not good at it. Yes, I am ok being the only one out there. Yes, this has been documented in the local newspaper. I have been known to go to a PTO fundraiser and generate a tidal wave of dancing moms through the sheer force of my dancefloor joy. When I am coaching, and really attuned in the moment, it feels like dancing. This is my favorite part.

I am a recovering perfectionist. I have lost a lot of hours and years trying to get it "right." In my weaker moments, I can still slip into that tight, scarce little mindset that prefers to stay safe and small rather than risk failure. For me, the antidote is Big Play. What's yours?

I love complexity. Give me your nuanced problems, your contradictions, your inner chaos, your unclear paths. I can see connections between disconnected ideas, and hold multiple truths at the same time. One of my mentors taught me to find the "AND" not the "BUT," and it changed my life. Holding space for all of the wayward parts is why I love working with people.

My Story

My career has not followed a straight line. I've worked in many industries, from ecommerce to journalism to community education to convenience retail to government. This professional diversity has allowed me to grow in many directions at once: as a leader, an instructor, a facilitator, and a coach. Over the years, I have also taken on the roles of parent, writer, and solopreneur. In all my roles, I have been excited to make as big an impact as possible.

I attended my first train-the-trainer workshop in 2002 and discovered how much I love facilitating a-ha moments for others. Since then, I have specialized in leadership development, manager learning, team facilitation, and remote instruction. In 2019 I earned my master's degree in organizational psychology, and expanded my areas of specialization to include talent management, qualitative research, and workforce re-entry, focusing specifically on caregiving mothers returning to work after more than a year at home. At the time, I had been at home with my kids for 5 years, and was trying to figure out my path back to full-time work. My research created a career re-entry model for moms that works. I know, because I tested it myself later that year.

Since 2019, I have designed high-impact leadership and learning development programming while progressing in responsibility from manager to director level. I've specialized in workshops, implementing new values and principles, improving engagement, launching DEIB strategy, and navigating organizational integrations both pre and post-acquisition.

In 2022 I participated in a group coaching leadership program. I began using coaching skills to support leader development at my organization, and saw transformative impact almost immediately. I was inspired by how quickly leaders were able to take real action towards stepping into their true potential when working with a coach, so in 2024 I shifted my focus to coaching full-time. I will complete Co-Active and ICF coaching certification in 2025. In my coaching, I weave together everything I know about adult learning, leadership development, creative process, and play to ask powerful questions that help you achieve your most important vision, purpose, and goals.

At home, I live with my two teenagers, husband, and parents in a beautiful corner of Central Massachusetts. Our house is filled with life, including two cats, a golden retriever, a newfie, a cockatiel, and backyard full of chickens. I love music, singing, cooking, knitting, walks in the woods, and thrift shopping. I have a loud and boisterous laugh, and use it often. I can also have fierce mama bear energy in the face of injustice or cruelty.  I am working on living the biggest life I possibly can.
